They are both nice and will produce the same gains it all comes down to if you care how it looks. And just a FYI a lid will give you the same HP increase for less then a hundred dollars

I vote neither.

I'd go with a FTP lid and SSRA/Chris1313 setup.

+1, and never buy a K&N. the very little hp you will see from a K&N will not offset the amount of dirt and crap that is going into your engine.

Another vote for an FTP lid over both of those.

I would stick with a lid. Personally I don't like the appearance of the K&N or Volant, and I don't like using oiled air filters on MAF cars.

cutting/ removing EGR tube, bypassing throttlebody coolant line, port and polish TB, de-screening maf, and Fernco mod.

I have the K&N and it works awesome specially if you have the ram air, take the two plastic off and it will suck air like crazy, way more than the lid, you'll feel the difference, easy to install, it come with everything you need also comes with the bellow that goes after the MAF and the filter for the egr hose, youll love it!

A debaffled hood/ram air kit sealed to an air lid would be a better setup for air intake temps and any hope of an actual "ram" air effect.
