Question PCV Valve Replacement ?

Just hit 30k on the odo. I have heard that this is a good time to change the PCV valve. Is there a way I can check to see if mine is still ok, or should I just get the $3 replacement and be done with it?

Does brand matter with these? Will the standard Fram be ok?

Thanks!

You're suppose to hear a rattle if you shake the PCV

Should be fine. I installed a Purolator on my hawk 4 months ago. Not a problem.

should hear a rattle and the valve shouldnt be burnt on the bottom, if it sticks or is really burnt replace. there is no diff. between the valves.... a valve is a valves, i worked at an instant oil change place and we had Service Champ Brand valves, and they were the same as OEM but just had their name on it. but it's 3 bones, mine as well buy one.
