When I ordered mine from WS6Store, I put that in the comments as well as e-mail Mike at WS6 Store directly just to make sure.

Good Luck!

Alright guys, here is how my cart looks right now:
ARH Race Longtube System with 3" ORY
GM MLS gaskets
EGR delete plug for LS1 intake
Prothane Poly motor mounts

Am I missing anything or is that all the necessary stuff for the install / removal of EGR/AIR?

I am doing emissions right before the install so I won't worry about the codes for a while lol.

How much are plugs and wires? and what is recommended? I know NGK TR55's are good but I can't find them. My car only has 23,500 miles on it so I'm thinking the plugs are probably still good for a while. Is it harder to change them post header install?

It's slightly easier with Long Tubes than with stock manifolds.

It's super easy replacing the plugs without headers.

Also, the WS6 Store has a deal to get NGK Plugs and MSD wires for like 75 bucks.

Some people like MSD wires, some don't. It's all up to you.

Here ya go man.. https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-s...0-shipped.html

If you are looking for NGK TR55 plugs in stores such as Autozone or Advance etc ask for part # NGK 3951. You can usually get 8 for around $20 or less. New plugs are always a good idea. Your going to have to pull your old ones anyways to install the headers might as well spend the $20 for new plugs while ur there.

Yeah I don't have $72 extra in my budget...I'm already $300 over as it is
I might swing $20 for new plugs if I don't need wires though.

Rather than start a new thread I figure this question could go in this one.

A friend of mine has Kooks LT's and ORY and he said that without a tune my ARH LT's and ORY will cause the engine to run rich at low RPMs and lean up top...how true is that statement and is it cause for concern?

I wasn't planning on tuning it for a while....

+1 on ARH gaskets are all you need
+1 on changing the sparkplugs while youre already elbows deep, you wont need new wires for a long time yet with those kinda miles so not really worth the extra grip.

I ran my 1 7/8 ARH w/ 3" Y for atleast a few months with no issues. Never checked by AF ratio during that time however, didn't race on them too much during that time though. Is this your first headers install?

It will be my first personal header install yes. My buddy has a 4th gen TA and he has experience doing a few header installs so he is gonna help me out and we're supposed to be getting it done on a nearby base so we'll have a lift. Might have 1-2 other people chipping in too.

I'm just worried if I get on it too much it will lean out and damage the motor now that I heard there is a chance it runs leans up top

*I ordered the GM MLS gaskets so I'll just use those*

Alright looks like we're planning for an install on 11/4. Is there any other hardware other than the EGR delete plug for the intake in order to successfully remove the EGR and AIR systems that I'll need in order to function right?

Update: After numerous setbacks I plan on installing everything on 12/16 with a couple friends using a jack and jackstands. We only have 1 day to get the work done.

I have purchased some PB Blaster and am going to soak the header bolts the night before and drive the car there and then probably spray them again. Will the stock bolts be re-usable or should I order the Stage 8 bolts just in case?

I reused my stock bolts with my ARH headers.

I recently switched from 1 3/4" Kook's & ORY to ARH 1 7/8" & ORY, i reused my factory gaskets/bolts when i put the kook's in and then again when i put the ARH's in. I've never had a hint of trouble. I also ran LPP's on my 2000 5.3 silverado w/175000miles, did the same. Then sold the truck and swapped the headers to my 07 and reused the gaskets/bolts from that.

OEM gaskets/bolts FTW!

Header bolts I figured were an easy place to save on the budget. Look at it this way... If one breaks what happens? You're inconvenienced. Some people will say you "need" them. I look at it more from the standpoint of "what are the chances I'll break one" and "if I do break one, what are the consequences". Based on that I didn't see the "need".

I i'd like to save the extra $40 if I can, and if I was installing the headers at my house I would, but the reason I'm worried about breaking the stockers and getting the Stage 8's is because I'm driving to a friends house an hour and a half away to do it and if they break and I don't have have them then I'm SOL and I'll have to leave the car there and I don't know if his parents will be ok with that or not. Its good to know that people haven't had trouble reusing the factory ones though
