Putting an engine in from the top or bottom??

Did mine from the top and the trans from the bottom, in a small *** garage my post-

Remove the AC
disconnect the brakes
drop and store the k member
I've never done one from the bottom but from the top is EAZY! Heads on, with the happy hooker tilting will not be an issue but the hoist boom exstension I made was very handy

You don't have to disconnect the ac to drop it from the bottom either.
Also, the car has a built in storage location for the k member.
Only time I can see you saving by pulling it from the top would be not having to mess around with k member bolts but I'm sure you would make that up messing around with bell housing bolts and wrestling the trans around.
