I had a 99 lightning bone stock ran 13.73 1/2 tank of gas on eagle f1s 65 degree day with 4# pulley on bald tires it ran 13.50 my stock ta m6 wont do that on street tires at least not the shitty ones on it now 13.7.I would have to say above 100 the ta would walk seeing as the L is a billboard.

ive learned with sc vehicles ya gotta get off the line good and then make your run for it beacouse if theur gonna pull you it will be up top not off the line but atthe same time you wast your bottom end advantage spinning youll loose.. iv beat even faster cars than my self purely beacouse ive held em off till the qtr was over giuven the time they wuold have won but that wasnt the race so they lost..... just dont **** up the launch and youll be fine

I ran a modded lightning after i got my headers and and duals put in and i walked him from a 45 roll. He had at least exhaust im not sure what else. But all i had was Hooker Lts and a Lid. Ran him twice on the highway and both times walked on him bad (and won) from a roll. This was in my TA(6spd). Back when i had my bone stock 95 Z28(auto) i ran from both a stop and a roll. From a stop i stommped his *** for about a 1/16 of a mile off the line then he came back and went flying by me. From a roll it was closer but he still handed me my ***. Since ive gotten my TA i havent lost yet. You should have any problem beating him with basic mods and with a cam youll stomp some ***.
Maybe think about a lil 100 shot to embarass him, wont even need the cam

I know this guy who works with me every now and then and he has a 99 lightning with a 125 shot and he told me his best run has been 12.9 in the 1/4. To me that sucks. I can beat that with just my Hooker LT's and my tru duals. The bottom line is Lightnings suck.

Back to the subject, to the thread starter, how did the race end up? Oh, and don't waste your money on a K&N filter, just buy a good paper filter, like Wix or Fram and be done with it.
On a side note, I was humbled by a newer model lightning a few months back. This was when I had a lid, catback, LT's, and throttle body. He was on slicks and spraying a small shot.
