I think it depends if you like a low gutteral noise or a loud raspy noise?

My GMMG catback is one of my favorite mods that i've done. That being said i still have cats and stock manifolds. May be a bit raspy if you go with an off road y pipe. The fit and finish were excellent and i installed it just using 2 jack stands.

Check out LS1sounds.com if your concerned with sound.

you could get a more conservative catback then just get a cutout if you want a mean sound

I have Borla now, but I loved the sound of Hooker when I had it on my last car. So I say Hooker.

I have a custom true dual setup with magnaflow's and no cat's,fit's great and sound's great!Maybe you should check out another shop to fix the rubbing issue!my car is lowered with strano spring's scrapes a little when I get out of my driveway but any exhaust would in that situation. If you want to hear my setup check out the video I posted in the street racing and kill stories. Some runs from the Bay Area...

I thought the hooker cat back sounded pretty weak even with lt's and an ory.

I love my hooker catback. It was also a super good deal.

Hooker is too quiet IMO, but great for inspection time!

OBX headers and Y pipe are 10x better than stock ground clearance. Mated to a 3" dynoax bullet and dump pipe over the axle, I love my setup. No dragging and lots of rasp.

Wish I had true duals. I wish we could trade cars for the day.

I like the sound of the hooker. Sounds good and not super loud.

EDIT: well, from what I have seen/heard on youtube.

My Hooker with LT's and cats. Without cats it'd probably be a good bit louder, but still loud at WOT with them. Even at idle has a good growl.

that sounds like a good idea they did my true duals pretty cheap now i know why tried fixing the rubbing myself it was the bolt from the seatbelt mount hitting the exhaust ended up just making alot of noise cant grind a steel bolt down haha im looking into getting longtubes so when i put those in time for some changing on the exhaust by a different shop learn to do it right the first time next time around

I like the gmmg. As soon as the funds are available thats my next mod. I had one on my last f-body along with headers and ory and loved it.

I have Pacesetter LT's, Pacesetter Y pipe, and a full 3" Magnaflow catback to CME tips/valance. I've got a 383 LT1 so I can't say how it would compare in sound, but I love it on my car and the quality is great.

I honestly don't know why people ask these questions anymore. You will get 20 different answers all saying theirs is the best. Just go to ls1sounds.com and listen to what see what you like best. If possible find someone near you and listen in person because it will sound different.
