ID Engine I'm new to LS engines and need help identifying what engine I bought. The back of the engine on the drivers side, just below the head, does not have a casting number. It has the pad where a casting number is typically shown but the pad is blank.
What I know about the engine.
It came out of a truck and has a 4x4 transmission hooked to it.
Aluminum block.
Head casting number is 243.
The wiring harness has a tag on it showing it was made 10/12/2006.
Any idea how to ID the engine?
