Default 5.3 cam project



I have a 2000 GMC sierra single cab step side 5.3 and I'm about to start fixing it up for a drag/street truck but. That I also drive daily....right now I only have a cold air intanke spacer pacesetter long tubes nd exhaust with a weak a$$ tune-__-but I'm being offered a tourquer V2 cam but idk if this kind of cam will work great with this engine?....nd what kind of heads should i get? Nd gears? 373's or 390's...needs some advice nd help asap! Thanks

consider comp cam 54-455-11,or try the camquest6 to find a suitable cam.

So u wouldn't think the v2 cam would work good?....I'm also getting some 6.0 heads ported nd polished

What 6.0 heads are you getting? If its the 317 you are going to loose CR and thats not gonna be good for you camj. If anything take your heads yyou have have bigger valves and a good port job and mill the heads to bump up the CR to better suit the cam. Then when your done with that get a stall.

you don't need to polish head ports if ported right.flow the heads be fore you order a cam.what head casting do you have ?little motors don't like big cams.you have a heavy truck ,you need torque .54-455-11 .
