Default Sump plug will not tighten

Just had the Engine oil changed on my 98 z28, The guy doing it said the Sump won't tighten up very tight and it has been helicored already, I was thinking about getting a new sump (oil pan) does anyone know if this is an easy job, and should i get a stock GM one or is there a better aftermarket one?
Thanks

You can swap pans, I would stick with the GM pan, because you can find a used one a whole lot cheaper than your gonna get an aftermarket one. It may be possible to drill and tap the hole out to the next size up. I think there is enough metal in there to do it.

Replace the helicoil? Doesn't the hole have to be made bigger to install one initially?

I would try to repair that one because you have to drop the k-member to get the pan out...
