Default Question on Y pipe cutout placement

Ok so right now I have some Flowtech LT's and a pacesetter ORY sitting in my basement. The plan was to sell them, buy TSP LT's/TD with some of my tax money to make up the difference. Well ran into some medical bills so my dreams of stainless have faded.

Realized that BBK has some LT's and ORY that was a great bang for the buck

Plan on lowering the car eventually down the road and love that BBK is a 2.5" Y. My car is by no means a monster/drag car. Just making it a simple street car that can get up and go when need be.

Already have dual DMH low profile 3" cutouts I was going to put into the pacesetter Y pipe. I took measurements and the part of the cutout that gets welded into Y, the opening is about 2 3/8. Even though its barely at the 2.5" mark. They should still be able to weld perfectly fine into the BBK ORY w/o any trouble right? Or will I not have enough piping to be cut safely w/o ruining the Y pipe?

Thought? Suggestions.

Im pretty gooped up with these pain meds so tried to make as much sense as possible haha

just put the cut out right in front of the rear axle before it goes up and over. this way you will only need one!
