Default Lq4 or LS1??

Just bought a 98 camaro z28 with a knocking motor, Got it for a Good deal couldn't pass it up, now i'm having trouble deciding if i should rebuild the Ls1 or just get an 6.0 from LKQ. If i put the 6.0 could i possible run high to mid 12's with just bolt ons??

I'd go LQ4/9. Build a 408 and you won't be sorry. I wish i did that when i rebuilt my engine.

If your goals are mid 12s then either will get you there pretty easily. A 6.0L has more power potential but the iron block also weighs a lot more.

go with the lq9 ,more compression.get a ls6 intake and a mild cam with all the bolt ons and you will be running 11s.
