The spark plugs, per the manufacturer, are iridium and good for 100k. You will not have anyone here agreeing to that though.

Myself. I have 30k
I had my rear fluid changed.
The Tranny fluid and filter changed.
The pcv, the serpentine belt, the fuel filter, and radiator flush.
plus the usual like oil.
And, I replaced and upgraded rotors and pads.

But, it depends how much you want to stick to manufacturer guidelines. Check your owners manual.

I just hit 30k and I just changed tranny fluid (M6), oil, diff. fluid, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, pcv valve and rotated tires.

I am not sure about how often you change the radiator coolant?

At work we recommend dropping the coolant bi-anually. I wouldn't say that is necessarily with most of us. But if it was a daily driver I probably would. Stuff can get pretty crappy looking, but I haven't changed mine yet. When I do in a couple weeks I'll use BMW synth.

I did it all myself...not tough. Maybe just the coolant flush should be done my someone, and your tranny fluid if it is an A4 because you can't get it all out on your own.

I had to take mine to the dealership to get the tranny flush and filter change since others would only cycle new fluid through. And, I was not gonna do it myself.

I think it was 100.00 to 150.00

The rear dif and fuel filter you can do your self. if you have a jack and jack stands. Unless your doing performance mods i.e. headers, heads and cam, N20, the stock plugs are good to 50K. The rear dif all you need is a 13mm socket and a 3/8" rachet. The fuel filter all you need is a 16mm wrench and a 13/16" wrench.

SS,
I had the same concerns as you, but like most guys here said,...you can do most of it yourself. Tranny's a little different, so call a couple of dealers and local places. The cheapest I found for the tranny service was 90.00 at a dealer here in DFW. Probably best to seek out a mechanic or shop that you are gonna trust anyways.

Rad, plugs, brakes, etc, are all pretty easy. If you've never done them get a buddy to help and go for it. No better feeling than learning how to do it yourself.

Tell ya one thing for sure....You are gonna laugh your *** off at the Texas "Just Brakes" commercials after you know how to do it yourself.

Good luck, have a blast

Who in their right mind flushes the radiator twice a year? Manufacturer data by Texaco which is the coolant these things come with says 100k miles. While I won't go that far twice a year is money out the window for sure. Besides, the condition of the coolant is totally dependant on the condition of the engine. Since you are smart enough to be asking these kinds of questions I would guess that you take real good care of her. The radiator flush is not a necessity at this moment.
