2002 SS stock 50,000 miles, need to add some power. Thinking 400hp would be great! I have the slp lid but havent installed it yet. any other suggestions from the pros?

Welcome to the forum. I used to live in Dearborn...thankfully I've moved.

Long tube headers to a good exhaust, Under drive pulley, lid, and a cam should get you a bit over 400.

After that you might think about getting a better stall and some new gears in the back.

rwhp or crank? Bolt ons (longtubes, tune, free mods, etc) will get you 400hp crank (about 340 rwhp with 15% DTL)... a good cam and boltons is needed to hit rwhp numbers.

Get you a good set of long tubes a nice none restrictive exhaust good stall about 32-3600 (ID GET A 3600 STALL ANY SMALLER YOUR GOING TO REGRET IT IMO)make sure you have a good lid id look into the ram air mod also a pulley, P&P throttle body, gears and a good tune FIRST... then look into a nice cam to go with that stall

My setup (see sig) got me 400 at the engine. To get that to the wheels I would probably need a 228r or Tv2 cam.

look at ported TB,under drive pulley, complete hi-flow exhaust ,exhaust cut out, cold air intake ,and a frost mail order tune.you will need a 3500+rpm stall.look at a TSP or thunder racing cam kit,228* duration or more.

Dyno #s with an unlocked stalled auto will not be very accurate & will be very low. The day I got my 228 cam dynotuned my readings were higher than an MS4 stalled A4. This was on a mustang dyno. The MS4 car dynoed 377 whp. No way thats even close.

Mods in sig got me to 403/378 to the ground. But you wont need the LS6 intake you already have one.

Long tube headers made a enormous difference on my car.
Its pretty easy to get 400hp at the crank or close..

You already have the LS6 intake so.......
SLP lid, P&P TB, cat-back or just a cutout, LT headers/OR-Y pipe. Send your PCM to Frost for tuning. If you are going for numbers only then the ram air stuff isn't gonna help numbers. Its been shown to help track times though.

Just with the little cheap stuff i've done my car is daylight and dark from stock. Headers being the one that left a smile on my face the first time I drove it.

I own a 2001 T/A WS6 that is 100% stock and im looking to do a few things just to help performance. Not looking to do much on the outdise of the car. Would you say that LT Headers is a good place to start.... Or should I go with the cat back first?

imo go with a procharger kit, might cost a lil more than a h/c package but you will want more than 400 hp after a few months, trust me if i could do it all over again i would have done a decent cam for boost and a d1sc, gives ya alot of room to grow once you get the rest of the car up to specs, again this is what i wish i would have done, boost or bust lol

Depends on what hes doing with the car. For a street car I dont think you need a procharger but thats just my opinion.

Actually id like to keep it naturally aspirated, no superchargers or turbos, all motor.. Its not my DD but i do take it out a couple times a week when its nice out and once summer comes around I know ill be driving it a lot more. My goal is to pretty much make it just as fast or faster then the new 5.0 mustang they got out, without totally killing the gas mileage
