mines doing the same thing....so far, i've been doing some research and it seems like the tranny is delaying the downshifts, making the car feel kinda flat.....try to get it on a scanner and see whats going on with your tranny functions.

There is a finite lag between transient throttle and
TCC unlock, and another between this and shift
kickdown. If it's a hard power jump this may be your
pony. If it's more like groggily deciding to make output,
this could be some high closed loop error that is being
comp'd out by the LTFTs, but exposed on every change
and needing to be recovered.

It's the torque management that is programmed in the computer from the factory. Pretty much all A4's do it. Get some tuning or a Predator and delete it.

who are u referring to??? me or Andrew1?

if its me, then its not the torque management because this is a recent thing...when i said delayed shift i mean REALLY delayed...

also from what i remember, 98s never really have TM issues after modding, and both his and my cars are 98s...

IMO, The predator isn't able to delete TM, it only changes shift points, firmness, and how quickly it shifts. I really never noticed a difference when I changed how quickly it shifts, but I did feel the shift points and shift pressure. Though I guess by changing the firmness and quickness it could affect TM but I wouldn't think so.
