150 should come no problem in these cars with the right type of road. However, My friends have verts and I don't know if they would be able to do as well as a T-Top/hardtop car. To me, they don't feel quite as stable as mines does past 100. Never been up in the 150+ ballpark before, but I've been 120-125 while running with my buddy's WS6 and it was still pulling extremely strong.

The subframes seem to make the car feel shaky, and IMHO the stock suspension is not up to snuff for 150 on the highway. All the people who are saying not to do it are right. The fastest I went when I was stock was about 120 on the highway when no one else was around and the car was awfully shaky so I let out. Now I go faster than that in 1/4 mile

You seem to be young, and I might not be older (21) but let me throw some advice your way. You are not invincible. At 150 mph, if you see something and hit the brakes in 0.7 seconds (which is the average reaction time) you will be a car 154 feet closer to the object then when you saw it, and it will take around 1/4 mile to stop on flat, dry asphalt. You WILL be putting yourself AND others in danger if you try this.

i must advise if you plan on making a run of that speed to upgrade your suspension, tires and brakes.

itll be safer and more stable in case an emergency occurs.

Mine had no limiter on it stock. It pulled to about 55-5600 rpm in 5th before I let out. Speedo was past the 155 mark but had stopped moving. I let off the gas and it took a couple seconds for the speedo to show I was slowing. I was probably near 170.

Mike how many times have you texted me after doing some absurd speed.....lol

I seem to recall the older LT1 cars (when new) would go 152-156. I think the Camaros would go 152 and the more aero TA's would go 156.

I would HOPE the LS cars could go faster.

You are correct about the trucks. My '03 2500HD would go flat at 98-100mph.
After the Diablo tune, wind resistance and lack of power limited it to 117mph.

I don't know what the ceiling is on my Vette. I've only been up to 145-150 with it and had plenty to go, but not enough road to do it.

I've had my car right at 125-130.

I see no reason to go much faster than that.

Odd thought they all had the limiter? All I know is it scared the hell out of me.... Car doesn't just stop accelerating, it's abrupt and reminds me of hitting the rev limiter wot.

No, only cars that came new with 16" wheels had limiters due to the tire speed rating. The 17"s were z rated.

This isn't the lounge, so opinions on speeding are not needed.

A question of capabilities was asked, and has been answered. The rest of the opinons don't really belong in this discussion.

16" wheel cars could also come with Z-rated tires (Goodyear Eagle RS-A 245/50/ZR16 and Goodyear Eagle GS-C 245/50/ZR16) and the same 162-163mph limiter as the 17" wheel cars.

That's what I was thinking, mine came with GYE RSAs and definitely a limiter.

The only thing that scares me is the fact that it sounds like my tops, at 120 no less, sound about like they're ready to take flight. I'm probably gonna wait until I get my full exhaust, tune, tires, and V1 before I make another run at 150MPH.

Thanks for all the feedback, stay safe!

I've been 140 one time and 155 twice, once on the highway and once on jackstands trying to figure out a noise. The noise was when I installed a new u joint one little needle bearing fell out. With my new setup I doubt I will ever see those speeds again. At least not without spinning to 10,000 rpm
