Default Help installing Tach

I just bought the AutoMeter Sport-Comp Tach with the exterior shift light. Now my friend was installing it(i dont know jack on installs) and he said something was wrong either on my car or on the tach. I have read before where people have said that u need to install it as a 4cyl car or something aobut the volts, what do i have to do. Im gonna have him read this post so he will understand. Somebody please help.

Yes, you need to install it as a 4 cylinder. Another thing with AutoMeter is sometimes the voltage limits are not in the domain with our cars b/c the voltage levels our cars put out are so low. There is a slim chance you will have to send the tach back to get it re-calibrated to work with lower voltage levels. Where were you hooking it up at? Check out the Raptor Performance link in my sig...they have instructions for how to install the tach to the pcm. If you need more help just ask.
