I would do...
New ls7 lifters
Ls2 lifter trays
Ls2 timing chain
Ls6 oil pump
Hardened push rods
Good single valve springs
Texas speed 228R cam
GM MLS head gaskets
Rod bearing
Main bearings
Rod bolts
Check cam bearing
Polish crank
Complete engine gasket, seal, and bolt kit
Make sure to check the bore sizes, a good hone might require you to to bump up to a 3.903-3.905 piston. Also I would have a machine shop mill the heads, check the guides, and run a vacuum test on them.

this seems like it's gunna be a hell of a car. I have been telling my stepdad he needs to do this with his 81 Camaro but is to old school for efi even though they have carb mani's... Idk. He is 41 but is as stubbern as a 80 year old.
