Default Valley covers

DOES ANY ONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO LS6 INTAKE MANIFOLD VALLEY COVERS, 12568002 AND 12577927? I AM GOING TO DO THE PCV COVERSION ON MY LS1 AND WANT TO KNOW WHICH ONE WOULD WORK BETTER OR HAS AN ADVANTAGE OVER THE OTHER. LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND THAT, IN GENERAL, THE 12577927 IS ABOUT $15.00 CHEAPER BUT I CAN’T OTHERWISE DISCERN ANY DIFFERENCE.

UPDATE: JUST FOUND OUT THAT 12577927 IS FOR THE LS1/LS6 GEN III BLOCK AND 12568002 IS FOR THE LS2 GEN IV BLOCK (PACE PERFORMACE INFO). THE LS1HOWTO PAGE ON DOING A CONVERSION FROM LS1 TO LS6 VALLEY COVER USES THE 12568002 (LS2 GEN IV) VALLEY COVER IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. SO, IT APPEARS THAT LS1HOWTO IS USING THE LS2 VALLEY COVER IN THE INSTRUCTIONS NOT AN LS6 VALLEY COVER. NOW I'M EVEN MORE CONFUSED.

I'm reviving this becaue I'm in the exact same position. I want to know the difference in them. Like, which one works better. Which one is better for overall reliability, as in will the internal pcv valve possibly go out on the internal one? Is it better to get the external one because of that issue? Does the one that has the internal pcv, have the little button spots on the top, making is difficult to use the ls1 coolant pipe? I don't want to use a catch can right now either. I've heard the back coolant caps tend to make the rear cylinders not get coolant, which sounds bad to me. The more info/opinions, the better.

THIS is the NEWER style......it works just as well as the old style

Thanks for replying, but none of my questions were answered by your post. I definitely appreciate the pictures though.

I do have another question, in addition to my others above. When this is ordered from gmpartsdirect.com, does it come with new bolts, and the gasket? Also, do you have the part number to the hose that would be needed for the new style valley cover? Again, these are in ADDITION to my original questions.
