Default Lights Out!!! HELP!

Yeah so I pressure washed the car, and afterwards, my front running lights and blinkers didn't work. Is there some sort of chain with a fuse that might have blown, or did I really blow all those lights? Any help is appreciated in locating and fixing this problem. Thanks a lot!

Posted this in the electronics section, but this is a more popular place and hopefully I can get this answered as soon as possible.

Have you checked all your fuses under the hood and the side fuse panel on the dash? I would think the Pontiac's should be the same as the Camaro. If not, you should check under the top fuse panel on the fuse block under the hood. Mine has a horn and foglamp next to e/o. They are the medium size fuses, gray, and have "Omron 8567" written on them w/ other #'s too. If your horn still works, switch the two fuses and see if your foglamps come on. If they come one, obviously you blew your lamp fuse. If not, check your bulbs. Above the foglamp there are some fuses for your headlights and my fuse box cover has the abb. "DR" after them. Not sure, but it might mean "daytime running" probably wrong here though. On the side of the dash in your fusebox, there are some little fuses. I would check your turn signal #2, and power accessory #7(although I don't see why this one would cause it) I know I blew it out trying to install my sequentials the other day, though. Some weird **** happened when that went out. Anyway, if all that doesn't work, take the time to check out all the other fuses for the hell of it. I hope the Firebirds are similar to the Camaro's or this won't help you much at all. Lastly, keep the damn pressure washer away from your electrical system! It's best to lightly spray down your engine parts, but keep the water away from your computer, and fuse box areas. Hope that helps. Good luck

Sorry, just noticed you only said you pressure-washed the car, not the engine. Maybe some water got up in there and shorted something out. Hope you find out what it is.

yeah all the fuses seem to be OK. I have no idea what to do. If one light is out in the series, are they all out? Is it setup that way?

Hey, check out the post a couple above yours today. Seems like other people are having your same problem. Somehow, water is getting into your lights and blowing them out. Other people said they had small cracks in the lenses and not a waterproof seal on the bulb. Take something to seal up the bulb to lens meeting place and check for cracks in the plastic. Since yours is a 98', you may have some small stress cracks letting water get in. Is the inside of any of your lenses foggy? Also, see if there is any corrosion around the inside/outside of the socket area. Clean em' up good, waterproof them, and see how that works. I haven't had any problems yet. If you check out the other post talking about blown bulbs, email one of the guys who fixed their problem and see what their remedies were. Foglight bulbs and blinkers can get expensive after enough of them. Good luck with it.

yea....pressure washing your blinkers and running light bulbs is a bad idea. The bulbs blow very easily if you get water into the housing.
