What plugs and wires do you guys recommend. I have a 99 LS1 camaro, with a s 6speed ram air intake, control arms, subframes, nittos, etc.. etc.. I need to change my plugs and wires. What plugs and wires do you guys recommend? Also what should I gap them to.. Any help would be great. Thanks

 

For a N/A Motor get Taylor 10.4mm and NGK TR55's gapped at .45
For a boost motor get Taylor 10.4 and NGK TR6's gapped at .35

 

I just bought GM highperformance 8mill wires from the dealer for 59.00, They are red and look pretty. NGK tr55 for plugs. as said above.

 

either of those are good advice.

I have the taylor 10.4 but i got lucky, and traded them, for some parts i didn't need anymore.

I would have bought the GMPP ones if i had to buy wires.

Another vote for the Taylor 10.4 mm wires and NGK TR55 plugs.

Just curious....why are you gapping at .45? I've been told by a lot of ppl that you need to gap TR55's @ .50-.55.

 

I have BOSCH +4s. no problems here after one year and no plans on replacing them anytime soon.

 

Bosch is way over priced, and a crappy product to boot. i've been told by both drivablility guys at the dealer i work at to stay away from them. ngk tr55's are much cheaper, and you won't have any problems. me and most of the guys i run with all have msd 8.5mm wires with no problems, so if you can't quite bring yourself to spend $100 for wires, msd's are a quality piece at half the price

I've heard that you want to go with a non-platinum plug is that true?

 

I run taylor 10.4's & NGK tr55's I would say not to run the bosch 4's cause i had them and they gave me a lot of missfires plus they cost alot

 

I have heard good things about the Bosch +2 and I have seen the +4. You guys are the first ones telling me to stay away from the +4. I though they were good due to the multiple electrodes and no worry about the gap, plus they are platinum.

anyone ever used nology? they had it in like hotrod and said it got some very great gains.

 

2 and 4 prong spark plugs like plus 2 and 4's put out a weaker spark than a sing prong. also the spark does not symultaniously jump to all prongs at once, it jumps to one prong and then to the next and so on. believe me i have done the tests at school. busch just plain blows

 

I think most people will say the the NGK TR 55 is the way to go, as far as wires I've got some MSD on the way and as long as you get a quality name brand wire I'm sure theyr'e all the same.

 

Why would their be a weaker spark? There are just more paths for the spark to follow.
