Default Help me identify my engine.

Ok I bought this 6.0 off CL for $400 and the guy told me he pulled it from a G8.. we I know it's not from a G8 b/c it's an iron block.. i'm wanting to do a swap in my 67 Nova.. Looking for 450 rwhp... So now my question is: how can I tell what block it is? B/C from my limited knowledge it could be a LQ4 or LQ9? So I'm wanting low mounted accessories such as alt and a/c.. so needs to be changed (timing cover, water pump, do I need to change reluctor wheel)? I'm looking forward to learning about what heads, cam, and intake will make this thing a beast.. or I could just leave it and do a s/c..lol.. As of right now my budget is around $2K for bolt ons.. oh I bought mid length headers already as well.

The engine number should be on the top rear of the engine on the driver's side. Should be easy to find with the engine out, not so easy with the engine in the car.

This link to LS engine numbers should be of help. Your number may or may not be on the list. But once you get the engine casting number you can search.

Water pump needs to be changed to a ls1 style pump. As far as reluctor wheel if it's 2004 or older it has a 24x tooth reluctor... Any newer engines have the 52x tooth
