Default Are these 243 Z06 heads?

I thought I saw somewhere that there was an identifying part number other than the main 243 that would identify the heads as the 02-04 Z06 sodium filled 243s. Correct me if I'm wrong

sorry the3res not really a way to tell if the heads have sodium valves without measuring the valves or weighing them. the sodium valves are a hair longer than solid ones although i dont know by how much... you can weigh them however. sodium exhaust valves are about 65 grams and the intakes are 74 grams. a solid valve set would bee 100g and 88g

So do I pay 400 for a set that I don't know for sure are sodium filled valves or pay 250 for a set that I know are just regular 243s?

thats the million dollar question man. 450 isnt bad for a set of 243s without the valves anyway, and 250 is a steal for any set of good 243's so its up to you. like i said the only way to tell for sure is to have the valves weighed.

The hollow valves are .0236" longer but you'ld have to remove them to get
an accurate measurement and by then the lightness would be apparent.
IIRC the valvesprings on the ZO6 had a blue stripe for 01 models and a yellow
stripe for 02-04 as the factory cam had .551/.547 lift.
