I was curious... So I researched:

Pat Gs setup is near perfect:
2009.5 Pontiac G8 GT 6.0L, A6, AFR 230v2 heads, FAST 102, 231/231 114LSA cam. 506rwhp/442rwtq. 11.413 @ 121.29mph
And could still only muster a mid 11 at a hair over 120mph.

I don't think I need to show you the fbody platforms fastest lists.. I will say this, there is absolutely ZERO contest between the two, it is a joke at best.
Talk about all the technology you want, something 90% of people on here care nothing about... Talk about being refined all you want... Don't think for a split second there is a comparison in performance with these two platforms, it isn't even close.
BTW, the switch to the ZETA platform was more for meeting safety standards than the performance side of it, don't flatter yourself.

RPM feel free to delete that if you wish... I was posting from my phone earlier and wanted to post all this but had to wait until I got to my computer.

Probably 10-20k depending on the conditon, I know its an older car but I don't think I want to pick up one with 150k miles on it knowing a rebuild is around the corner, need to do more research before I check that option. I was hoping maybe find a nice one for about 11-12k and spend a little money on mods and keep some money in my pocket. Although maybe I could find one cheaper and still get what I want. I'm not sure how the market goes for these cars.

And for the record I would never ever own one of those god awful looking G8's.

Never Ever.

I am at the track(1/4 mile) every weekend, see & have seen plenty of G8s run. I havent been impressed by too many, they usually run mid- low 13s high 12s at best. There was a G8 GXP with a blower, it ran 11.7s @ 118-120ish. That was the fastest one I have seen. Theyre a heavy car, you can make them fast but it takes a lot more to overcome the weight disadvantage they have.

I have driven G8 GTs, GTOs, new Camaro SS with blower & even drove a newer CTS-V coupe, 2011 Lingenfelter 700 HP. I have never driven a nicer car than that V but my heads & cam 400 whp 4th gen felt just as fast. They all have a better ride & interior than the 4th gen but the 4th gen is still a great car & hands down better performance car.

That is one sweet Fbody but Id rather start off with a stock one and go up in power slowly. The STi is the fastest car I've ever driven I think 550 rwhp is little much for me to start with.

Plus if I can find a nice one with maybe 50-100 k miles it'll hopefully be not too expensive, another reason I'm getting an Fbody is to lower my costs.

I live near Denver but I'll be moving soon to somewhere with no snow. No need for AWD anymore.

GA might get snow for up to a week a year..if there is a blizzard. Snow should not be considered if moving here. I've lived here for 16 years, seen snow actually stick less than 10 times, always gone in less than a week.

As already established, F boddy = ***** out ape rape acceleration and the V8 growl. Definitely test drive one to see if it's what you want. If it is, they are really cheap and easy to mod compared to some other cars, an LS6 intake, full exhaust and tune for starters produce great gains and aren't expensive. There is even a guy (tunedbyfrost) who will do a supposedly good mail order tune for $150 for bolt ons so you don't have to go drop $500 at the local dyno after every few boltons. They also still have a huge aftermarket support.

If you get a manual, be aware the stock 10 bolt rear end is weak and if you dump the clutch and rip it with a high RPM launch on sticky tires you're asking for trouble. Most people replace it with a 9 in ford rear or a 12 bolt GM if they blow up the 10 bolt.
