I have a 2007 Tahoe with a 5.3. Has a custom tune, exhaust (with cats), air intake, and ported TB, and port and polished stock heads.
I typically get 20-22 MPG on the Instant MPG Meter when driving on the HWY. A couple weeks ago, with slick roads, at 5 MPH the truck hopped a curb and hit a guard rail. Nothing happened to the Tahoe, just a minor scratch on the bumper, and a bruised ego for the driver.
Now driving on the highway (two weeks later), I see anywhere between 17-19 MPG, HWY. I went through the whole truck to find anything loose or whatever, and found nothing. I do have a gas station down the street that sells gas without 10% ethanol in the fuel. I tried it, and it went back to normal 20-22 MPG on the HWY.
Any thoughts, is it just bad gas, or could it be a deeper issue?
