I bought a 98 Camaro SS from a gentleman, and the guy he purchased the car from said it has a rebuilt motor.... Now it seems to be kinda Ill ask your guys opinions and pictures will be provided.. First off I went to do a oil change on the camaro and it doesnt use stock oil filter, it uses a PF48 instead of PF46 and the block and all look extremely clean, It is aluminum and I have a couple numbers I have tried to get off the block, the one I cant really make out to well but I can get all but the one number.... The number I believe is 125127306, I found it on the back of the engine on driver side on the bellhousing pretty close to where the head and the block meet and veeeeery hard to see..... I do know it has the 853 heads though....

Or could be 1Y first two digits not sure

853 heads are LS1 heads from 99-2000 model years.

Could be a 5.3 block. I used PF48 filter on my suburban IIRC
