Depends on what your future plans are as far as mods go, on a stock ls1 the hp/$ ratio won't be very good but the more you do to the car in the future the more the fast will start to shine.

On a 99 trans am, your best bang for the buck would be a ls6 intake at $350-$400. 10-15hp? maybe
The problem with the Fast is you have to change everything. Fuel rails (and fuel delivery), intake, throttle body, boots, maf, airbox lid. So for $1800-2200, youd get 15-20hp? maybe.
But like stated above, it depends on what you are planning on doing. Fast makes some AMAZING products... But I think for a stock car $2000 could make some really good HP with a stock intake.

Well I'm planning on building my engine up and eventually supercharging it. I've been looking around the boards and it looks like the best are the ls6 or the fast 102mm, people say for the extra $ the 102 is better. The 102s description says it's really meant for ls3's.
So I guess ls6 is the best bet? I don't have 2k to blow right now

We have dynoed LS7's with a fast and seen maybe 10HP gain.
So you're seeing an extra 5 hp at the wheels for 1000$+
Wouldn't be my first purchase
I will give it one thing though it does look bada**

The car will be lazy at low rpm. You will have no runner velocity with a fast 102 and 346ci. You will see much better gains out of an LS6 as stated above. If you are going to boost in the future you will do just fine with the LS6. There are plenty of cars out there with 1000+whp on ls6 intakes. When you force the air you have less need for a big runner, Not saying that it will not be more efficient but not needed. Save your $ and buy an ls6.
