this is a picture of the set up on my car. this is how the car was when I bought it and I'm not sure if what I have is just the k&n air filter or if its the cold air system. I don't think it it but I would like to make the hood functional and if possible use a ssra or similar set up as well.

Doing both would not be as good as doing one or the other. Air is like water and will take the path of least resistance. It's best to pick one and seal all other entrances

I didn't even think about it like that. i get what you're saying about the air. I just dk what I wanna do. id like to make the hood functional but I like the results from the ssra. but I wanna know what all is needed to be able to run the ssra.

It will come with instructions (very easy) but basically you will be cutting a hole in the bottom of your airbox, removing the radiator shroud, and bolting it up to the underside of your bumper

You need a lid and a lower air box/base. If you want to make your hoods Ram Air work then you'll need a WS6 ram air base (just checked Ebay $200), for the SSRA you could use any base including 1 off of a V6 car (about $100 off ebay). With either base you'll want a aftermarket lid, a SLP lid would be your best bet but there pretty much all the same. Also before you ask NO you do not want to buy the SLP FloPac, and your better off with a regular paper filter than a K&N or similar oiled filter.

lol. alright well I just ordered a complete ws6 ram air set up off ebay. so when I get it I'll put it on. now wirhwith the ssra set ups whenever its said you can seal everything off. that means that no air will get around the box itself causin air to try and force up on the hood correct?

Bottom feeder ram air like Chris1313, SSRA, and others have been proven to outperform the nostil type ram air. You'd be better off converting the WS6 nostrils to vent cool air through the engine bay or blocking them off entirely.

alright well i got my set up today. top and bottom half of the ram air. the nostrils in the hood are lready blocked off cause is just a look a like hood. it did cross my mind to open up the back side of the hood to make rear vents to let hot air out. good or bad idea?
