Default get the ls1

i had a lt1 z camaro and it was a great ride...heads cam and bolt ons...pretty quick...but that damn optispark sucks...it F**ks everything up...now i have my ls1 firehawk...man what a difference...even with the heads in cam in the lt1..the hawk was faster then the lt stock...these ls1 engines are badazz even stock..jus throw on a few bolt ons and some gears and you can take a stock 03 cbr...i jus installed heads and cam on the ls1 and man it F**king halls ***...i love these engines...i think it was worth buying the ls1 with the payments even tho mine was payed off...thats the only downfall...u might still have payments..jus get the right ls1...my lt didn't have t-tops...no leather seats...it was an a4..but now i have everything i wanted in a car...and a ls1..i would go with the ls1..you won't regreat it...good luck

If all you are looking for is bolt-on performance, then the LS1 wins. If you are looking to build something serious, then either engine has it's pros and cons. If you haven't driven an LS1 car then go test drive a few. Then just go with what you like.

I'd go ls1. A couple of months ago I picked up my 2001 Formula
6 speed with 41K on the clock, and completely loaded and in great shape for $14,000. There are good deals out there, you just have to be patient.

My LT1 ran 13.74 at 100mph bone stock, so it's hardly weak.

Excellent buy! I got my 00 Formula last summer for $15,500 and thought I did pretty well. It had everything I wanted except the M6. I do wish I was more patient in waiting for that, but I'm pretty happy with what I have.
