LS9 cam with LS6 Heads
2001 SS M6 with 135k on the odo. I'm coming back from my deployment and want to wake the car up a bit. I'm going to get a set of long tubes, catted y with a cat back of some sort(looking at the Hooker Aerochamber, GMMG is a too pricey for me), replace the motor mounts, LS7 clutch, and a tune. I dont have the means to install the parts due to my living situation, so I'm going to have a shop install everything. The shop I am speaking with suggested I have the engine refreshed (for lack of a better term) due to mileage (gasket and seal kit, LS3 timing chain, plugs, wires, oil pump). It was also suggested to me that I could pull more power out the engine by having an LS9 cam with LS6 heads installed as well. I looked up the cam on here and it seems to hold favor with the boosted guys, but would it do anything for a pure bolt on car?
TLDR: LS9 cam+ LS6 heads=?

That cam is a GM design for boost applications. Will it make more than your
stock cam ?? Sure but there are better alternatives. Check the classifieds for
a Thunder or Texas speed 224 cam. Usually these can be had for only a few
bucks more than the 9 cam...will sound/work better for ya.
