Lol, agreed.

Many years ago I was in a very similar situation as you - so I know that feeling and it sucks! I've since made sure to get an estimate before I have any work done. Unfortunately you learn the hard way that you can't take a shops word unless you've used them before and have developed a relationship with them.

The best thing to do now is just move on and enjoy the car.

You never mentioned it, do you like the new setup?

Being ripped off / scammed/ stolen from is one of the worst feelings in the world. I think the only thing you can do is leave your reviews on every site known to man to ensure this never happens to anyone else.
