Default Want to Turbo my SS 6.0 Intimidator...???

Hello,
I have a 2006,6.0,SS,RWD,(345hp ya right..what a dog) that I want to turbo(single) and yep doing it on the cheap. Build time! Its bone stock,60k,317s,etc. Want to do a single turbo to push it to its upper safe hp area (550-600hp???). I have no idea what turbo to choose, been reading for 2 days straight and still haven't figured out which to get. Want to keep the power in the 3000-6500 range, will be porting the heads, upgrading the injectors to 60#s and fuel pump.?. springs and pushrods will be upgraded, want to front mount...header flip. Manifold upgrade 90-92mm? Cam will be changed to match the turbo....Sorry I might seem like im asking to be spoon fed here. Also want to have a little room to grow, heads swap later, and go into the bottom end when the funds show. I have a full machine/weld shop at my house so fabing isn't a problem...and full circle the turbo??????? Any help?
I have heard in the .80s...81 or.88 I have read but will the injectors make it for that size? But the reference of .80 is that on the compressor side???

Thank you
Jas

I used to have an 03 SS AWD. I went ultra cheap with a dry shot .062" jet
in the airbox. The MAF saw what we called the Antartica treatment. With 21
degrees of timing, cold plugs, and the torque management turned off, it went
from 2.18 60ft/14.84 @ 91mph to 1.76/13.11 @ 106...good times for sure !
I'm curious what you are doing with the truck, just dyno numbers, quarter
mile dragging with slicks/DRs, or street roll racing ?????
Being as you have a bit more room in the bay than a car...I'd suggest a Borg
Warner S475. These are T6 sized but make great power and have decent
longevity. A .96 or 1.10ar should do the trick for you. If you run stock stall
converter then .96 which will hit sooner. If you run a 2600-3000 stall then
the 1.10 will have an effective map range for your goals. This turbo can max
at around 900 horsepower and there is an 80mm version that hits right
around 1000 at 24-26 lbs. Both of these would give you the option to grow
if you go forged later, however on your stock shortblock I'd consider 10-12
about max unless you disassemble and widen your piston ring end gaps.
You will easily hit 600-650 flywheel horse at only 10 psi. IIWY I'd consider
removing the heads for a quick valve job and surface job...but mainly to run
ARP studs with GM LS9 mls headgaskets. If funds allow you could have AI
cnc the 317s but for your initial power goals it's not really needed. Also PSI
beehives, Lunati gold, or Brian Tooley dual valvesprings will all work fine.
As for the cam I'd stay small...say 218 to 224 range since you are only
wanting a 6500 rpm powerband. Go wide 114-117 lobe separation for the
turbo...EPS, Ed Curtis, or Martin at Tick can get ya going in that department.
Lastly the intake upgrade is not needed as plenty of Yellow Bullet guys are
running in the eights with the 5.3 engines and the truck intake/TB.
Good Luck on your build...really interested to see how it works out for you
