LS6 Intake & potz ported tb - tune?
I had my car tuned after I installed my long tubes
and ory. I installed my LS6 intake almost a year
ago and my potz ported tb yesterday. It seems
to pull really strong but I'm wondering if I should
get the tune checked?
I know that he tuned it on the slightly conservative
side so I'm hoping there is enough wiggle room in the
a/f ratio to compensate. Any advice? I'd hate to be
running lean and causing engine damage.
I haven't thrown any lean related codes.

I pulled some plugs today..here's a sample its a little whiter then I was
hoping for but *I think* it is still in the normal operating range. The center
electrode & ceramic insulator is still in great shape. Any thoughts?

Depending on how much you would have to pay for a retune I would get it. Now if they will charge you full price I would wait till you go cam or heads. Call the place that tuned you the first time and ask how much a retune would be. Do you plan on getting a cam anytime soon?

If his price is reasonable, I think I'll have him check it quick..plus he can probably make a little more power

I think with my ls6 intake and ported tb I'll be making 320 rwhp. This is on a dyno dynamics mind you which reads super low.

If he tuned it fairly recently, I'd try to get with him between tunes of others just to have him check it ( my guy did with mine for no charge. I just wanted him to check the shift points and confirm timing). As stated not the best pic. but I would want to know where the timing is.

I was trying to get a look at the strap. The only true read is at the end of a run (dyno or track). Ideally you would want to see a heat mark right at the bend of the strap and a white porcelain with a tan ring at the bottom. For a plug that been 'driven around on', looks slightly lean IMO.

^Oh ok. Yeah that's true..these plugs have 30,000 k on them and they were pulled on a cold engine. I looked at the porcelain very closely and didn't see any specks whatsoever on it..so I don't think there has been detonation. I've never thrown any codes relating to a lean condition nor have I noticed any high rpm issues.
Still, I agree. It's a little whiter than I was hoping for. There is some tan on the strap but its mainly a greyish white. I'll get the tune checked, better safe then sorry!

^I made a block off plate for my egr valve out of a couple Canada Dry pop
can pieces cut in the same shape as the valve. It's worked perfectly.

^Yes I upgrading to the LS6 intake. This was meant to be a cheap stop gap
measure but I've had it for almost a year now with no issues. What I did is
unbolt the egr valve and trace out a template of the gasket on a pop can.
Sandwiched that inside and success! egr blocked without spending $20 on
a plate.
Although, eventually I think I'll buy a proper block off plate so that I can
chuck the egr valve. It's pretty ugly.
