Default advice on mod setups for a dd

I've got a 2000 Firehawk, recently replaced the tb cable and fixed an issue I was having with the car only going to 80% throttle at WOT. Now the car acts as it should (I've had 3 auto ls1's before). however still has a dead zone after 70mph where flooring it just doesn't pull as hard. Its been awhile since I've been in one so maybe its just me but it does feel odd. Anyways the car has 92k and is stock except for a lid, bbk long tubes and a loudmouth cat back. I daily this car and I'm not trying to make it crazy modified and run a 10 second time in a daily, but I'm looking for more power and performance on the street and whenever I do end up racing someone its usually a roll race so looking for mods friendly to that. I've had some people local tell me a 75 shot and call it a day but I've never used nitrous before and I think something like a nice heads and intake combo will work better. My last ls1 had a 232/238 cam with 610 lift and 4.11 gears in the rear, and it was too much for the street and a daily. Any input is appreciated

Why not consider a more budget friendly head/cam combo, and then a nice used nitrous kit, and throw a 75 shot on top of that? That's basically what I have, but on a 6.0, and with a 100 shot. That along with a 4.10 gear makes for a nice kick in the ***

Is this car an auto transmission ? If so a 3,200+ stall would wake it up a bit. Also a ls6 intake and a cam would be a jump in power as well.

get a mild converter and a ls6 intake, then if you want more later a mild cam in the 224-228 range would pair well with the converter and give a nice power bump but still drive great

If its an auto car and based off what you have. Stall, cam, intake. You don't need to go wild on a cam to make good power. Some cams are actually designed to work with stock heads.

I ran a Thunder Racing Cheater cam years ago with base LS6 heads and made 420rwhp and 415lbtq on the dyno. It is a great cam for daily duties the only reason I got rid of it was the fact I wanted the sound of a nice lumpy cam.

I daily my car (except in the really bad winter months.) In about 2 weeks I am doing the following...

Speed Inc. SI5 Cam (231/237 .589/.595 112 LSA)
TSP 1 7/8 headers & ORY
Yank SS3600 Stall
3.73 gear upgrade
Dynotune
All supporting mods (springs, lifters, trans cooler, oil pump, timing chain, etc.)

I already have a LS6 intake (car is a '01), CB and a lid, so I am thinking I will end up with 385ish RWHP, I am optimistic that I will hit close to 400 RWHP. I will report back with my results on 3/10!

looking to avoid a bigger cam for now, like i said just came off a fairly moderate cammed daily driver. however i am interested in one of the cheater cams or at least a smaller cam that performs well for a daily and doesnt reduce gas mileage and driveability by a noticeable ammount like my last one did. it does have the ls1 intake so in the very least an ls6 intake is called for, my first camaro had a bbk ssi intake and i didnt have any complaints about it but not sure about its gains either. im aware a FAST is most likely my best bet as far as intakes are concerned.

Sorry, missed the part about the cam experience.
