Default 5.3 and 6.0 vs. 5.7?

How do the 5.3 and 6.0 liter motors compare to the 5.7? Weren't they spin offs of the 350 and LS1? Between the 5.3, 5.7, and 6.0, which is the best out of the bunch? It seems like GM is replacing the 5.7 with the 5.3 in its truck fleet, and the 6.0 liter will be ousting the 5.7 for it's performance car segment...or at least that's what it looks like to me. Unless GM keeps the LS1 in the GTO for 2007, which I kind of doubt. Is either engine more efficient, higher reving, or more reliable then the LS1?

On a side note...how does the 4.8 motor compare to the 5.3 in the trucks?

None of those motors have anything to do with the 350.

Best? 5.3 gets the best gas mileage.

5.7 is the lightest (aluminum block) and has the highest compression.

6.0 has the highest horsepower potential and the best heads.

The old style 350 hasn't been used since 98. The 5.7 liter LS1 was never available in a truck IIRC

, and the 6.0 liter will be ousting the 5.7 for it's performance car segment...or at least that's what it looks like to me.
It won't be the same as the truck 6.0

The vette LS2 (6.0) motor will have LS6 heads and an aluminum block, as well as some other changes.

Unless GM keeps the LS1 in the GTO for 2007, which I kind of doubt. Is either engine more efficient, higher reving, or more reliable then the LS1?
The LS1 and its derivitives have a long life ahead of them. None of them is particularly more efficient. All rev about the same (or have the potential to) and all have about the same reliability because they are all almost exactly the same.

On a side note...how does the 4.8 motor compare to the 5.3 in the trucks?
It doesn't. Get the 5.3
