If you're going to drive the car everyday and you're in a climate that involves rough weather, pick the GTP. But if you're in a warmer area that sees snow very rarely then I'd go for the LS1.

I chose the GTP because I live in Ohio, you don't see many GTPs going sub 13.0 so having one is that much more enjoyable, there's a great community where you know all the people, and you don't have to know there's 700 other modded cars just like yours in the same city.

Why not combine the two and get a M6 GTO? I've had mine for nearly a month now and is always enjoyable. Anybody who has something bad to say about the car has A. never even seen it in person or the spec sheet for it or B. Hasn't driven it!

Some people have even said "nice car, its FWD right?"

I don't know jack about modding GTPs
but I can't see how < grand is going to
make you faster than an LS1.
What are you doing boosting it up to 20lbs.
Yet you claim driveability and reliability.
Seems to me that if this were the case,
we'd be seeing alot more of them and a bigger
aftermarket.
Then again LS1 Fbods only need slicks to hit 12's

Not flaming, inform me

So you're telling me there are only about 10 GTP's in the country that can run with my near stock camaro?

That's good news!

Seeing this list should make up your mind for you
Since when do stock camaros run 10's and 11's , the funniest thing of all is you havent even posted any of your times, are you afraid that a V6 can beat you???

I drive my cars year round in WI, 20-40 below in the winters at times, plenty snow too. Never owned a truck, but my 94vette was one of the best "winter vehicles" I've driven. As good as my old saab 900s. With ASR, corvettes and fbodies are fine in nasty weather WITH ASr and good tires. Hell, the vette had 285 width Goodyear GSC's for most of the winters, but when I went to 335 width pilots MXX3's, I lost a bit of traction in the heavier snows. No ASR, heavy snow and 300+horsepower RWD makes for permanent white knuckles.

I own both cars.. but If i had a choice of only 1 I would choose the WS6 ... when I drive my GTP it's fine... but it just feels like a commuter... yea it's more comfy than my TA and has more luxury type items... but really look forward to driving my TA every week ...

one of the reasons i like my fbody is the sound, got any sound clipz of that gtp? just curious. My mom-in-law just bought a new one, nice interior. Didn't get to drive it.i wonder if you can put that steering wheel or anything less than the giant fbody one in our cars lol. never seen such a huge airbag steering wheel in my life.

GTPs sound ok, not aggressive by any means stock. I've heard some nice ones w/ borla catback... nice stuff. I scared a friend in a GT mustang once...she was behind me and I revved it quickly. She said it 'growled'

Live your dream. Soon you might get married, have kids, etc., etc., etc.....

I used to own a 12 sec 97 GTP. I grew tired of the lack of a manual and the grunt of a V8. The GTP was a nice car in and out. But you see a hell of alot of GP's now on the road. They all look the same. I would never go back to a FWD car again.

This is something to keep in mind before you buy. A $500-1500 beater will get you through any bad weather. Driving a junker makes me appreciate my nice cars.
