Alright, thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep an eye on the coolant for the next few months but if nothing pops up I'll just forget about it

A lot of engine thermostats are fail safe , if they fail they stick open so you do not over heat the engine . If that happends the engine never gets up to operating temperature and that my be the cause of your problem?
