Amsoil
Supposedly its a good synthetic, I've used they're race oil before but its expensive as ****..Also it isn't the easiest brand to find. there is a lot of amsoil nuthuggers out there though lol. Lately I've been using Mobile 1 mainly because its inexpensive and easily accessible at your local Walmart.

Any quality brand oil will do. It comes down to how often you change the oil and filter. If you've built a race engine then I could see stepping up to high tech brand oils. I use Mobil 1 as well because it's cheap ($5/qt) and readily available at BJ's, Walmart, etc.
Before I decided on Mobil 1 I read a dozen or more threads on this site about engine oil choices. Just do a search and start reading. I would agree that engine oil selection and how often to change it borders on "religion" to car enthusiasts. Most of the recommendations from auto blogs seemed to suggest buy whatever decent synthetic oil happens to be on sale the week you want it. Here's a list of 5w-30's...and most are pretty comparable.

Mobil 1 Super Syn seems quite similar in makeup to Amsoil CE. The Mobil 1 regular is slightly different. The guy linked below did oil stress tests and ranked Mobil 1 pretty high. Many of the costly boutique brands didn't rank nearly as high as you'd expect. Several of the Amsoil products did rate pretty high. I found it interesting that a 5w-30 Mobil 1 was ranked much higher than the 5w-30 extended performance Mobil 1.

My dad used amsoil in his semi, put a million miles on it, then got it rebuilt, and there was not even a bit of sludge, and the engine was super clean!
