Default Engine removal

is it possible to remove the engine without lifting the body up off of the engine? Can I remove the engine from the top end? Also what are the steps I would have to do? Its a 2001 WS6
Thank you in advance

Yes it is possible. I just got done a rebuild on my fbody and I took it out through the top. You do it pretty much like any other motor pull. Just be sure to take the radiator/fan etc out, you'll need the room. Also take the intake manifold and valve covers off and it should come right out.

If you do a search, there are some threads on this in the Gen III External Engine forum.

On my build we were trying to take it out the top but the dowels on the trans were corroded to the block and ended up taking it out the bottom. Just food for thought. Also if you take it out the bottom its the perfect time to repaint the engine bay, replace motor mounts, and do headers.
