LQ4 into a 62 caddy, need a couple mods...
I am putting a 2002 LQ4 into 62 caddy and would like some cheap mods to get a little more out of engine.
Like to spend around another 700-1k into mods,.
Whats my best bang for the buck?
Intakes, injectors, cams etc.
I will be running a 4L80E tranny.
Thanks
Dan

Not much else can be done for 700-1k... after mods (intake, cam, heads etc) you need a tune so that adds more $ to the equation.
Wouldn't hurt to freshen the motor with gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, plugs and wires.

It's a slippery slope. LS6 intake is the best flowing stocker but is about 350$ bare so you need rails, injectors and injector harness pigtails. So $550-700 just to swap the intake to a car. If you have the room for the truck intake then it's not necessary and a truck intake makes more torque as well which is something you need in a 62 caddy.
It's hard to suggest a cam bc I don't know your intentions with the car, but cam 350-400, gaskets 150, timing chain 25, lifters, push rods and springs 300-500, might as well oil pump since your into the motor 125. And then you will need a converter to capitalize the gains 450-700. And a tune on top of that as well as injectors, pigtails, fuel pump and tune.
