Default Hi Everybody!!!!

Ok, another newbe here. Here's my first of what I'm sure will be many questions. I've recently purchased a '98 Z28 A4. It only has a little over 52,000 miles on it. What's the "standard" shift point at WOT? Mine rev's to 6000 before it shifts into second gear. Is that normal? I don't want the bottom end to come apart on me.
I'm going to date myself here a bit, but this is the first "hotrod" that I've been able to afford sinse about 1984 (you know, wife, kids etc.). I was very much the old school car buff. I've owned more than my fair share of chevelles, GTOs, and such. My wife and I are finally in a place to "play" again!!! So any and all (good) advice will be appreciated!

I'm not sure about the shift point at WOT, but I know it shouldn't be hitting 6,000 before shifting.

Welcome to the board.

Actually I have seen that before on some LS1's, but I don't think it's too common.

dont worry, i have a 98 z28 A4 with 46000 mi and it shifts at 6000 under wide open throttle. As far as i know it was programmed to do that. You can change shift points by getting a handheld programmer. Dont worry about it too much, it dosent slow ya down as much as it seems.
