Default those with gmmg?

i was trhinking of getting the gmmg but without tips. how much will that effect the sound quality compared to one with the tips?

my friend said that when he took his tips of it didnt sound as much defined and toned... but also said that it was maybe it was 3inches under the bumper without the tips. i know that the stanard system will come with the 3 inch extensions i believe to extend to the bumper..

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Between the standard tips and optional tips there isn't a difference. Without any tips at all would probably reduce the sound since it is not carried all the way back.

I got the tips just b/c I thought they looked so much better. When I was at GMMG getting the catback installed they cranked up a Camaro with the standard tips and it still sounded great. Granted the tips were connected to a ZL-1 stage III which, for the newbies, has the 427 cu. in. LS6 engine in it .

It will sound just as loud without the tips. The tips project the sound back, and create a bit of an echoing effect, but it will sound good without them. If it were me I would go ahead and buy the tips and get the extra look, and sound, but if you want to save a little money the chambered exhaust sounds good as is.

The standard GMMG comes with round slant cut ss tips. Optional are the oval tips @ $150/pair. All ZL1's have the oval tips on them.
