Default Exhaust advice

I have a 2002 z28 and need to know what size pipe that i will need to weld in place where the catalitic converters were. Any info is appreciated !

Better off going headers and Y pipe...

I second that. Especially if your talking about doing this mod to the stock y pipe. If so, your better off purchasing an aftermarket y pipe. Would be a cleaner install and the larger exhaust diameter would flow better.

It's not a simple answer since the driver's side pipe is oval - though the flange is not.

I am new to this guys, why would a new y pipe be better ? And would i still use my oxygen sensors ?

i have 2 ws6's
both are stock first one driver side pipe oval and magnaflow
and the second with Y pipe and magnaflow

with Y pipe more noticeable in idle and cruising i like it

Because it would just be a ton easier than trying to custom fab some pipes to replace the cats, plus you wont gain much from that. You will gain a ton of power from doing longtube headers and a catless ypipe, around 50rwhp is possible.
You will also need a tune if you want to remove the cats or do LT headers to turn off the check engine light, some power will be gained from the tune as well.
