5.3 to 6.0 swap 08 sierra Last post was in the wrong section I think so I will try again here!
Hello everyone some questions about a swap I'm starting to plan out. My 5.3 in my truck is dying because of AFM issues and instead of doing a stock rebuild I'm thinking about doing a 6.0 up and dropping it in.i have access to a good running 02 6.0. I plan on stripping it down having it honed hopefully reusing the stock rods and pistons(re-ringed) and putting a new 58x crank with all new bearings. I heard that my 243/799 heads off my 5.3 would be a good combo paired with a mild cam so I will probably have them rebuilt as well. Looking for everyone's opinions on exactly what I should do/need to know about this swap. Thanks so much.
