Odd Sensor

I just bought a 1998 camaro z26 M6 and I'm trying to figure out what this sensor is. It's underneath the leather shifter boot (not the actual rubber boot itself but the one that covers the shifter stick) and I couldn't find anything on here. I will post a picture with this message. Any help is appreciated

Thats a light bulb. Pull the cover off and you'll see the little bulb

And if I recall correctly it's the ash tray light. Been too many years..
