Default 02 Z28 Project

Camaro isn't being built for the tracks but looking to make a descent sleeper. Like to get a 30 mph roller. Car is basically stock with couple of bolt ons,slp lid,cat back, tune. Weather permitting its heading out to engine machine shop. The agenda, Cam 54-412-11, heads rework, rods, lifters,T gear & chain etc. LT headers, catted x pipe into borla stingers..Then off to be tune. My question will texas lt fit without issue? Could I go bigger on cam without the need to change converter? I'm not looking to be super dog out there.

Headers should fit fine.

I wouldn't go any bigger on that cam. I had a 221/221 cam that bogged horribly with the stock converter. Cam and converter are partners. If mismatched they don't work well together.

I would consider a mild converter anyways at some point.
Performance gains from converters are very very measurable.

I would speak to Tsp, sounds like you need some direction. I will say that a converter is a must for a good sized cam and don't go to low on the stall speed.

. I've spoken to local machine shop that's in the business for 20 yrs. He recommended the comp cam that would work without the need to change converter. Going to discuss options before committing to it

If you with a higher stall converter , a trans cooler is a must as the stall will create more heat in the trans.

Thats great but I was referring to theyre LT's, im sure they could answer your question in seconds rather then waiting for responses here. Of course theres cams out there that will work w/ a stock verter but you mentioned going bigger. In that case i highly reccomend a converter. My cam is actually a stock stall cam it just happens to work well w/ my 4k stall.
