Default Which ECU?

I read a lot about P59, 411, etc ECU's

How do I know what I have? And what I can interchange/upgrade with? Not sure I want to upgrade just curious to understand some of the differences and terms.

It's a Blue/Green 24x, DBC, running a 4.8/4l80e from a 2005 Express 2500.

Here are the serial numbers.

If you pulled out the entire engine/trans/wire harness/ECU combo from a donor car then I would simply use the ECU that came with the rest of the parts. You know it's compatible and there is really no need to "upgrade" it for most uses.

For some reason I can't open your picture. The "0411" refers to the part number for the PCM. If it says "12200411" on it than it is an 0411. It's literally the last part of the part number. I don't know for the P59. But that would at least confirm or rule out if you have the 0411.

According to MRK, that is a 2006-2007 express van PCM. If your question is what you can do with it, according to MRK, it should have support for an IAC (idle air control) meaning you can use a cable throttle.

You can also just get an electronic throttle/pedal which is much easier to tune in my opinion. Getting an IAC dialed in properly is time consuming.

Interesting, just shows you need to check what you have. The vin tag on the van I bought this from said 2005.
