Default Is this possible

I want to get into the LS as cheaply as possible meeting my requirements. I want it to be around 350 c.i. (the size of my cars original engine) and lighter than the 454 I currently have. I know, that is a stupid reason to design an engine but this is going to be a cruiser and I want it to be a 350 if all my stuff say it is a 350. That being said, I figured I would end up with a 5.3. So I figured the easiest way to get to the 350 c.i. would be to stroke it. I calculated a 3.9 in stroke with the stock 3.78 bore would be bang on. I found 1 crank with a 3.9 stroke. Is my logic sound and what would I need to achieve this. I figured I'd need new connecting rods. I calculated a length of 6.238? Is this correct? 3.9-3.68=.24 Difference from stock stroke to 3.9" stroke. Divide that in half and add the result to the stock 6.098 rod gets me 6.238. I am not a mechanic so I could be completely out of the park.
Any guidance would be great.

LS1s and LS6s are so hard to find. 5.3s are everywhere. Also they are so much more expensive. 5x to 6x more.

A high mileage 5.7 is going to be the same cost or less than getting a 5.3 and stroking it by an odd amount and then swapping in accessories. If you can find the right combo of off the shelf pistons and rods and already have the right accessories for your application it can be cheap, but if you're going with any odd sizes or overboring and need accessories it gets expensive fast

"....as cheaply as possible...." --- just put a 6.0L in it.

Bore the 5.3 to 5.7 specs, install LS1-6 pistons and move on...
