Default 383 stroker yes or no

Good afternoon all i am still kinda new to this site and LS motors, and would be grateful for some more of your knowledge. My question is, is the 383 stroker worth putting in my 2002 Camaro Z28? Is it reliable to drive 4 to 5 months out of the year? I know it is a longer stroke and the piston skirt pullout out of the bottom of the cylinder and puts more where and tear on the motor. what is the avarage life of a motor with a 383? And my last question is that if i am putting a Hawks 450 kit witch is
  • PRC Stage 2.5 Ported 5.3L Cylinder Heads 59cc w/ Dual Valve Springs Installed
  • HAWKS Sinister Camshaft 230/236 .591"/.601" 112 LSA
  • 7.400" Chromoly Pushrods
  • FAST 102mm LSXR Intake Manifold (Cathedral port heads)
  • FAST Fuel Rail Kit
  • Nick Williams 102mm Throttle Body (Cable driven)
  • 100mm MAF Mass Air Flow Kit
  • 42lbs/hr Fuel Injectors
will it be to high of a compression for the 383, or does it matter? Thanks again for your help and knowledge!

If you wanna run that Hawks setup just stick with the cubes. Unless you plan on a more aggressive top end the stroker is not worth the extra cost IMO

For the same money you looking for a 383 build, you can build a 402-408 motor and have both more torque and power.

I personally wouldn't bother with any kit that deals with the skirt dropping past the cylinder walls but that's just me chiming in with my opinion. Many people have done so without disasterous issues and dealing with the wear and tear.
I did read somewhere they make LS blocks with longer strokes for a stroker.
