When I first bought my car used, in 2001, I paid 16,100 out the door. With $480 in mods it ran 11.3 @ 122! Nitrous ($450) and a cut-out ($30)!
Now with about $10,000 in mods I'm down to a whopping 10.9 @ 125.

Sorry Jeffrey... that is funny

But was it 10k well spent on other things besides 1/4 mile times?

Just so ya know... I am shootin for the 11 second and am budgetting for it. I have heard that to get below that takes much more.

You have an awesome ride and until I can afford it the best I will see is 13 sec (for now).

Still funny though.

With the new motor....about $54K including the car ($28K purchased 5/98). I plan on it running low 9's. But, you never know. I could have the most expensive 11 second Camaro in history.

WHOLLY CRAP! UGH... I just got started and had better get a couple more jobs (or sell one of the other rides) I guess! 26k for car bought Brand New still on MSO in Sept '03. Magnaflow Cat back + GMS Lid & K&N Filter, HPP3 $800 ttl. Next up SLP LT's with all thu fixins', plus a Dyno tune another 1~2K. No times (as I live in Po' Duck, MI) but from what I read.... I have to spend about another $8k to make any diff eh ??

I'm still in the "cub" league!

Word of advise, skip the SLP headers, and go strait for the good ones. If you continue to mod the car, I'll bet that you end up taking them off and going woth QTP's, Kook's, FLP, or even the hooker's. They are just a better header, and they don't hang anywhere near as low.

Thanks!

I was wondering 'bout that. I saw on SLP's website that it decreased ground clearance by 1 1/2" and thought YIKES! I can barely stradle an ant in my path now! But.. I came across a pretty good deal. Should've known! Haven't purchased yet though.

Since your runnin' the QTP's let me ask, no regrets eh?
And I'm pretty sure that there is a site sponser here as well??

QTP headers rock, but the y pipe did take some fabrication. The shop that did my install had to make a set of spacers go make the 4 inch collector clear above the spohn torque arm that I am running, and the pipe had to be cut and welded in a couple spots. If you having a experiecned speed shop do the install, it's not gonna be a big issue. If you are attempting to do it yourself, best of luck. Good power gains with the setup too...

Again thanks. I was just checkin' out QTP's website. Nice looking stuff.
But yeah...NE Michigan not a real Mecca for speedshops. But I do have a freind who owns a shop and installed my MF catback. He even dropped my rear axle so he could leave the stock exhaust in one piece! I thought I might do this mod over the winter but...

BTW: Did you tune your car with just the Diablosport? Or did you have another tune besides?

:
Old rule of thumb is once you hit the 10's it takes about 10 grand to get each tenth faster
Because with each speed improvement comes safety and strength requirements $$$$
