Rear Seat Removal Question
Ok, I've got the bottom portion of the rear seats out. And also have taken the bolts out on both sides of the upper portion of the rear seat. But what's the best way to get the seat belts off of the rear seat. I was just going to take the bracket off of the seat itself that the belt runs through and then leave all the belts and stuff there, but the bracket is attached with some funky screw that I can't get out.
Any other ides for how to remove this upper portion. And keep in mind I'm just doing this for TOMORROW as I'm going to the track so I'm shedding weight. I want to be able to put the rear seat back in relatively easily and quickly which is why I'm not removing the seat belts themseleves. Thanks a bunch.
Edit: I moved this because no one in the DR section was answering my question.

I removed the seat belts with the back part, they weigh a good 4-5 pounds each. Then you just remove the back part and the seat belts as one. I couldnt figure how to take out just the back part either.

Yes it is a torx bit...T30 sounds right for that...I think T15 is another common one on these cars. Just go to Sears or someplace and pick yourself up a set. They're not that expensive...and you'll need them on other places on the car.

No, the seat belt, the part that winds up the belt, is held in by nuts on studs. You have to remove the panels with the speakers then you can access the nuts, and remove them with the rear seat.

there should be two bolts holding down the bottom of the seats..... get a 13mm socket with a small extension and a ratched and take out the bolt and remove the bottom of the seat.... next is to take the seatbelt plate off the backing of the rear seats... get a T-30 bit to do that .... after removing the backings get a 13mm wrench or a ratchet might work (not sure) and remove the two lower bottom nuts... lift the two top levers and lift up ... and it should come off the two mounting brackets...
if you want to take the seats belts off remove the rear two speaker panels ... and unbolt the upper mount.. not sure on what size socket ... there is only one nut so you dont have to remove any other panels.... then take a T-45 bit and remove lower bolt of the shoulder strap from the body of the car.... as well as the seat belt recievers on each side of the driveshaft hump
best i can do for ya
